28th March - Ushuaia to San Sebastian (Day 1)

On Monday, after a day of waiting around at the dock, we finally completed the paper work and left Ushuaia by very late afternoon. We had around two hours of riding before we lost the light. The Garibaldi pass out of Ushuai was a nice start to our riding with wide sweeping bends between the mountains, as the sun went down the mountains were bathed in pink light. It was a nice feeling to be finally on the road.

We left Argentina and entered Chile and encountered our first piste (unpaved road). The boarder crossing was straight forward, if a little slow. At the end of a long day we managed to miss Nick's Super Tenerere parked by the cafe / camp site and ended up riding past. We met up with around half our group coming back in the opposite direction - they too had gone past. We all turned round and eventually found the camp site. We set up tents in the rain and retired to the cafe to warm up and eat.

My top box has come loose after dropping a bolt. I'm using a bungee to secure it.
