To Lake Titicaca

The road out of La Paz was thick with traffic, but we eventually got clear and set off for Copacabana on the banks of Lake Titicaca. The lake is at 3800 meters and is the largest lake in South America by volume of water.

When we first arrived at the lake we were a little surprised, it did not look that big. It was not until we rounded a corner, and realised we had just been looking at small part of the lake, that the true size was clear. A small ferry took us across to a small town where were we had trout, caught in the lake. The final 10km was along a perfectly twisty roller coaster of a road to Copacabana, only spoiled by the only petrol station trying to charge Paul for petrol they had not given him.

It was a short day on the bikes and we arrived by about 3pm. This gave us time to strip down my front end and hopefully fix the problem with the bearings. My mechanical knowledge is coming on leaps and bounds!
