From Putres we set off for La Paz. The area immediately after Putres contained lots of small lakes and swamps that reflected the early morning sky.
On the outskirts of La Paz we were confronted with a queue of traffic stretching as far as we could see. We started to filter between the queue and the small amount of oncoming traffic, only to be met by Perr and Ebba coming in the other direction. They had been the first riders to reach the front of the queue and discovered it was being caused by a protest. The road had been blocked with rocks and dead animals, there were also reports of clashes with the police.
We'd previously found out there was a Harley convention in town after we met some riders at the boarder. While stopped to talk to Perr and Ebba a large number of bikers arrived, all on route to the convention. Some local riders knew a way in to town that would go round the protest, so we set out across the fields. The local riders were very accomplished, and it was sometimes difficult to keep up. Eventually we made it in to La Paz - a city built in a huge bowl between the surrounding mountains.
